PHYSICAL EVIDENCE TESTING SCHEDULE

The tests shown below can be used to evaluate samples related to the commission of an alleged or adjudicated crime Some of these tests are also appropriate for evaluating personal, private, test samples for a variety of reasons

1. Visual and microscopic examination of evidence including clothing, hair, fiber, debris, blood, etc.
2. Comparison of hair strands - evaluating consistent or non-consistent characteristics of a questioned known or unknown hair.
3. Identifying hair sample strands using DNA extraction comparison. The follicle or root must be attached to both hair strand samples.
4. GSR- Gun Shot Residue - identification of firearms discharge.

5. Blood Identification - Is the unknown spot human or animal blood?
6. Identification of a spot alleged to be seminal fluid. Are sperm cells present? A possible vasectomy should be a factor to consider.
7. Vaginal Fluid - Is the unknown fluid deposit vaginal? Samples suspected of being that of a prepubescent, post-menopausal, or menstruating female may conceal vaginal fluid identity.
8. Saliva Identification - Is the evidence suspected of being saliva?
